Scottish Water Update

NW advised that work is underway to upgrade current piping, and will resolve number of pressure issues being experienced in village.

NW advised any residents who have a complaint re water pressure that they must report it to Scottish Water directly on 0800 077 8778.

SF advised that the current waste system is under strain, and it is vital the upgrade takes place to meet standards required by May 2022.

An interim solution will be put in place initially, to cope with the growth in the village, which will supplement the existing works, while a new state of the art solution is built for the whole village alongside.

Work on the interim solution will commence in January 2020, with the aim to finish in July. Work on the full solution is also targeting commencement in 2020.

SF advised that some traffic disruption may be noticed along Craigton Place, as the access is at the end of the road beside the Bowling Club. Some trees will need to be trimmed or removed to allow access, but all this will be covered at an open evening which is planned.

Education

SS advised that the Schools have advised that they will be in touch to set up a meeting with the Community Council in the New Year.

Planning

WH commented that work appeared to have been undettaken to clean up the public plaza besides Sainsburys.

WH added that work was now underway on the private nursery building.

Finally it was noted that an objection had been made by Stewart Roden & Co Motors regarding the proposed entranceway to the new Schools campus.

GC placed on record his and the Council’s thanks to all who have helped contribute to the Community Council throughout 2019, especially Blair and Shirin Geddes for their assistance in the creation of the new Website, and to those ex-Community Councillors who had left their post during the year.
